Universal Testing Machines

Due to their modular design, the universal testing machines of WPM are versatile for material testing in tensile, compression and bending tests.

Universal Testing Machines UPC

Application

The hydraulic universal testing machines UPC are designed for static examinations of tension, compression and bending, according to the general guidelines of accuracy class 1 based on DIN EN 10 002-1, DIN 51 220 as well as DIN EN ISO 7500-1

Features

  • Reliable measurement results: The applied load cell ensures reliable measurement results due to its high measurement accuracy and robustness against shear forces and bending moments.
  • Comfortable operation: The cylinder is regulated and controlled by means of the control variables force, position (piston displacement) or elongation (external displacement transducer). By means of the remote control RMC for the machine frame, the piston stroke is adjusted sensitively directly at the specimen.
  • Intelligent measurement recording and evaluation: With the computer evaluation software, an online graphics can be displayed as well as extended evaluation possibilities and cycle control in the position and force regulation (strain regulation with extensometer).
  • Option active crosshead clamping: The test room height and clamping length can be adjusted continuously by moving the crosshead. The piston stroke of the adjustment cylinder assures the position of the machine head.
  • Option passive crosshead clamping: The clamping device is installed in the crosshead. To adjust the machine head, the clamping device is released hydraulically. While testing and in idle position, the machine head is held in its position mechanically and free of play. It can be adjusted precisely with an operating panel. Each column has guide sleeves for accurate guidance.
  • Hydraulic parallel clamping device: The clamping system can be used for static tests on round and flat specimens as well as for dynamic tests with zero-crossing. The clamping device is designed as hydraulically working open parallel clamping, only with horizontal clamping movement. Thanks to the parallel clamping, the specimens are clamped without any vertical movement, i.e., without pre-clamping forces.
